Firmly bound by tradition. The company, originally named Seilerei Fatzer, was founded in Romanshorn, Switzerland in 1836. In its early years, it mainly produced hemp rope for farming and fishing as well as for shipping in general. Steel cable was added to the product line at the turn of the century. In 1948 the company began manufacturing wire rope for ropeways and started the worldwide export in the 1960s - a move in the direction of specialised products. Today, the sole business of Fatzer is developing, manufacturing and marketing high-quality wire ropes worldwide. Years of strong commitment to our business goals and clear concentration on the market have made Fatzer a leading producer of heavy-duty ropes - next to ropes for passenger and material transportation we also manufacture ropes for winches. As a competent partner for ropeway constructors and operators we offer custom-made solution for perfect fit.
Due to long-time experience and technical know-how our team is always prepared to provide individual rope services.
